De mannen nu van Gíbeon zonden tot Jozua, in het leger van Gilgal, zeggende: Trek uw handen niet af van uw knechten, kom haastelijk tot ons op, en verlos ons, en help ons; want al de koningen der Amorieten, die op het gebergte wonen, hebben zich tegen ons vergaderd.
