Zo spreekt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israëls, zeggende: Aangaande u en uw vrouwen, zij hebben toch met uw mond gesproken, en gij hebt het met uw handen vervuld, zeggende: Wij zullen onze geloften, die wij beloofd hebben, ganselijk houden, rokende aan Melécheth des hemels, en haar drankofferen offerende; nu, zij hebben uw geloften volkomenlijk bevestigd en uw geloften volkomenlijk gehouden.

Zo zegt de HEERE van de legermachten, de God van Israël: U en uw vrouwen hebben met uw eigen mond gesproken (en met uw eigen handen hebt u het uitgevoerd): Wij zullen beslist onze geloften volbrengen die wij hebben afgelegd, door reukoffers te brengen aan de koningin van de hemel en plengoffers voor haar uit te gieten. Nu, doe beslist uw geloften gestand en volbreng beslist uw geloften!
